Partnering with Dare Koslow, who renovated the Soho Printing Press, LIGHTSTAGE is delighted to introduce Hong Kong to this historic events space.

AMBIANCE | A rich and distinctive Hong Kong patina: weathered red tile floors, metal balustrades, raw walls, warm lighting, and for all its coziness, a very clean palette and impeccably-rendered open-layout kitchen and spacious bathrooms on each level.

Many a neighbour has wondered what lay behind the Soho Printing Press doors. This one-of-a-kind venue is still owned by the local Hong Kong family who generations ago managed the printing press and shop operating at this site. This two-level open-plan venue is situated at Tank Lane at the end of Bridges Street, linking Soho, Sheung Wan and the “Poho” and Tai Ping Shan mini-neighbourhoods.

Many of the original architectural details have been maintained, from hanging clocks and chains to the letterpress metal type and printing press cabinets. Dare Koslow, well-known in Hong Kong for his efforts to renovate and preserve Hong Kong’s Tong Laus, worked with the family to renovate Soho Printing Press with a keen sensitivity to preserve the original details with modern functionality and infrastructure. For the LIGHTSTAGE team, this was love at first sight (site?): LIGHTSTAGE is delighted to be partnering to manage Soho Printing Press as a venue and natural meeting-point for those passionate to recognise and preserve Hong Kong’s heritage sites.

This is a stunning indoor and outdoor venue for those who love a sense of place.


One-of-a-kind location

Ground and Mezzanine levels of a traditional Chinese walk-up building at the end of Bridges Street (entrance on Tank Lane), linking Soho and Po Hing Fong,with scenic pedestrian-only paths in three directions. Car drop-off in front and private parking spaces available.

Heritage Venue

Formerly a working printing press, the two floors have been carefully renovated to preserve the original character of the building and environs.

Multiple Entrances

Several entry points to the ground floor level, including a gated sliding door leading to the high-ceilinged foyer, as well as a separate gated outdoor entrance to the private terrace.

On-site Open Kitchen

Four hob induction stovetop, oven, large chef's table / bar counter, racks for glassware, hidden top-of-the-line refrigerator and freezer, wine fridges and ample power and space for additional cooking and cold storage units.

Modern Bathrooms + Amenities

Two dedicated washrooms, one on each floor, with rainhead showers and pristine tiling. Hand soaps, fresh towels and paper goods included for event bookings.

Overnight Living Space

This was once a home! King-sized bed and linens on the top floor — may be included, may be removed for events.

Private Outdoor Terraces

A spacious private terrace suitable for both guest and "backstage" use flanks the northern face of the building, with a separate street-level entrance. A second, fully-enclosed catering/utilities terrace provides additional "backstage" / cleaning / storage space with a utility sink and power supply.

Bookings are confirmed upon return of the signed Event Services Agreement and once the Security Deposit payment has been settled.

Client may request to change booking dates without penalty (provided dates are available) up to two weeks before the event start date.


30% Security Deposit is paid to secure the event booking. Full payment due (instalment plans available) 14 days prior to event start date. Security Deposit returned within 7 days after event provided there is no damage/losses incurred.
